Surgical Malpractice

by Administrator 27. May 2009 06:28

When you have a surgery done, you expect that the people performing on you will be proficient and professional. Unfortunately, this does not always work out as well as you would like.

In some cases, surgeons deviate from standard practice procedures, putting patients in danger. In other cases, surgeons operate on incorrect body parts, putting undue strain on the body and causing a greater chance of complications.

If you or someone you know has been a victim of surgical error, contact the Charleston personal injury attorneys of The Steinberg Law Firm at 843-720-2800.

ATV Injury and Legislation

by Administrator 20. May 2009 04:22

As state legislators consider a bill to restrict ATV use, a 15 year old rider lies in the hospital in critical condition. The accident occurred Saturday in Summerville when the teen's ATV flipped over.

The bill being considered would disallow children under 6 to drive ATVs and would restrict engine power for children between 6 and 16. It would also require safety equipment and safety courses for youths. Requirements that may have saved this teen and others.

New Safety Feature for Teen Drivers

by Administrator 15. May 2009 03:36

A device called MyKey contains a computer chip that will help keep teen drivers safe. The chip will turn off the radio if not all passengers are buckled up and will display a message on the dash that tells them to buckle up to unmute.

In addition, the car will not go above 80mph when the chip is in use and it can be programed to give a warning chime at any speed above 45mph. However, these are only a few of the features that MyKey will contain in the hopes of keeping teen drivers safe.

Traffic collisions are the leading cause of death among teens. If your teen has been injured in a traffic collision, contact the Charleston personal injury attorneys of The Steinberg Law Firm at 843-720-2800.

Defective Seat Belts

by Administrator 13. May 2009 04:11

Seat belts are incredibly useful devices that can end up being the difference between life and death in some cases. There are hundreds of stories about people escaping crashes relatively uninjured because they were wearing a seatbelt at the time.

Unfortunately, seat belts can sometimes malfunction. This generally happens because the seat belt was not properly designed for or installed in the car. When this happens, the negligent designer or installer is responsible for the injuries suffered in a crash.

If you or someone you know has been injured by a defective seat belt, contact the Charleston personal injury attorneys of The Steinberg Law Firm at 843-720-2800.
