Collision Involving Tractor-Trailer Kills Three, Injures Six

A collision between a van and a tractor-trailer on a rural road in South Carolina has left three people dead and six injured. The accident, which occurred early Wednesday morning, occurred in Colleton County in eastern South Carolina. Sources close to the case say that four of the injured individuals were in serious condition and were transported to area hospitals for care.

Moped Driver Injured Following Collision With Car

A 32 year-old South Carolina man  was injured early Tuesday morning when the mo-ped he was riding was struck from behind by a car. The driver of the car, a 17 year-old man from Pendleton, S.C. was not injured in the accident. The driver of the vehicle was charged with driving too fast for the road conditions at the time.

South Carolina: 75 Pounds of Meat Recalled

A South Carolina establishment is recalling 75 pounds of fresh beef trim products that may have been contaminated with E. coli O157:H7.

The product recall are various sizes and a "Sell By" date of "06/02/09." The problem was discovered through sampling. People are urged to not eat this meat and see a physician if you are feeling ill. E. coli O157:H7 is a bacterium that can causebloddy diarrhea, dehydration, and in severe cases, kidney failure.

Boating Accident in Charleston Harbor Injures Three

In early December, three people were injured when a tour boat and a Coast Guard boat collided in Charleston Harbor.

The accident happened shortly after the annual Christmas Parade of Boats around 8:30 p.m. It is unknown why the Coast Guard slammed into the commercial catamaran. Three of the passengers on the the tour boat were injured. The boat also sustained damages but was not in the immediate danger of sinking. The accident is currently being investigated.
