1 Killed, 2 Injured in Myrtle Beach Car Crash

Police are investigating the cause of a three-vehicle accident in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina that left one person dead and two others injured.

 

According to officials with the Myrtle Beach Police Department, the crash occurred on U.S. 501 near Seaboard Street shortly after 6:00 p.m. Monday night. Police believe the crash was caused by a man, suspected of stabbing a 30 year-old woman, was attempting to flee the crime scene. As police arriving on the scene observed the 29 year-old suspect involved in a crash with two other vehicles.

 

The driver of one of the vehicles, identified as 53 year-old Cheryl Byrd, sustained serious injuries in the crash. Byrd was pronounced dead at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center shortly before 7:00 p.m.

 

Emergency medical services transported two other people involved to nearby hospitals for treatment. The stabbing suspect and the driver of the third vehicle were also taken to area hospitals with minor injuries.

 

The accident is still under investigation.

1 Killed, 2 Injured in Crash with Sheriff's Deputy

Investigators with the South Carolina Highway Patrol continue to examine the cause of a crash involving a sheriff's deputy, which left one man dead and two others injured.

 

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol's real-time traffic information, the fatal accident occurred shortly before 5:50 p.m. on Highway 21 in Beaufort County. Authorities say the driver of a Chrysler was attempting a U-turn when he crashed into a K-9 deputy squad car. 

 

The impact of the collision ejected the driver and a female passenger from the vehicle. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The woman and a male passenger were transported to Beaufort Memorial Hospital. Their conditions are not known.

 

The deputy was also taken to BMH with minor injuries.

Woman Struck By Vehicle After Car Breaks Down

A 37 year-old North Carolina woman is in serious condition after being struck by a 2007 Dodge pickup truck while walking on U.S. 29 on Saturday night. The woman was walking alongside the highway after a vehicle breakdown. She was walking across the northbound lanes of U.S. 29 by the Reedy Fork Parkway exit, when she was hit by a truck that was being operated by a59 year-old man from Browns Summit.

Man Sought in Fatal Hit-and-Run

A man who is wanted for questioning in a fatal hit-and-run in Orangeburg may be in Houston as he prepares to flee to Mexico, authorities said.

30 year-old Enrique Medina was involved in a head-on collision on Sunday evening that resulted in the other driver’s death. Medina abandoned his vehicle and acquired another car. He reportedly called his family from Atlanta on Monday, saying he was heading to Houston.

Medina is believed to be driving a white 2003 GMC Envoy with South Carolina plates DSS-252. Police officials think he may abandon this car before heading to the Mexican border.

Medina is 5ft 7” and weighs 170 pounds.

Two people airlifted to hospital following Conway hit-and-run crash

Two people were seriously injured in a crash in Conway Sunday night. The driver of one car hit another vehicle and then fled from the accident. 

The hit-and-run driver was later found close by, after hitting a tree on Elm Street. In the initial accident, one person flew out of the car, and the other was trapped under the vehicle. Both had to be airlifted to nearby hopsitals to treat serious injuries.
