Man Suing Hospital for $25,000 After Death of Wife

by Administrator 4. March 2011 02:57

A man has filed lawsuits against a Michigan hospital, health care group, and three doctors, after his forty-two-year-old wife died while giving birth to the couple's triplets.

The woman had complications with her placenta, which caused her to lose large amounts of blood during the delivery. The husband of the woman is claiming that the hospital and doctors acted negligently in that they were ill-equipped to handle the blood loss and did not have enough blood on hand to save the woman.

The woman died during the birth, and her children were delivered by the doctors through cesarean section. The man is asking for $25,000 in emotional and physical damages.

The husband of a woman that died of septic shock filed a medical malpractice lawsuit against the hospital and doctor that where the woman went for treatment.

The woman went to the emergency room at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center in January 2002 after complaining of back and stomach pain. The doctor diagnosed her with kidney stones and gave her medication for the pain.

He told her to come back on Monday, but the woman died 48 hours after she left the hospital of septic shock. A jury determined that the hospital and the doctor were negligent because they failed to abide by the national standard of medicine. Hospital officials said that they do not agree with this verdict.

Surgical Malpractice

When you have a surgery done, you expect that the people performing on you will be proficient and professional. Unfortunately, this does not always work out as well as you would like.

In some cases, surgeons deviate from standard practice procedures, putting patients in danger. In other cases, surgeons operate on incorrect body parts, putting undue strain on the body and causing a greater chance of complications.
