Drunk driver gets 10 years in prison

A 39 year-old Massachusetts man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to felony drunk driving charges, failure to stop for a blue light and siren, and child bodily endangerment. The man was driving on I-85 last October when a South Carolina trooper tried to pull him over for erratic driving. He refused to stop and the officer pursued the vehicle from Cherokee County to Spartanburg County. The officer states that the man was driving over 100 mph.

The chase ended once the intoxicated man rear-ended a tractor trailer. The 25 year-old driver of the truck suffered a leg fracture. The man’s blood alcohol level was tested at .13.
