3 Injured in South Carolina Car-Ambulance Crash

Three people in South Carolina were inured Monday in a collision between a car and an ambulance.

According to officials with the South Carolina Highway Patrol the accident occurred at the intersection of South Carolina 81 and U.S. 25, also known as White Horse Road. Scott Edgeworth, a Lance Corporal with the South Carolina Highway Patrol said that 20 year-old John Pearson, the ambulance driver, was transporting a patient from another car accident in Anderson County when the ambulance collided with a Honda driven by 25 year-old Honoratia Reyes.

Sandy Dees, a spokeswoman for the Greenville Hospital System, said there was no information available on either Pearson or Reyes. Dees said the lack of information could, however, mean the two had been treated and released. Federal privacy regulations prevent the hospital from giving out information unrelated to a patient's condition. When patients leave a hospital, it can no longer provide any information about them.
