Two motorcyclists hit by car

Two motorcyclists were rear-ended by a car earlier this week, resulting in them both being taken to a local hospital, according to police.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol reports that the incident occurred at 11 AM Saturday morning at the intersection of Highway 544 and Highway 17 Bypass.

According to witnesses, a vehicle hit the two motorcyclists from behind and slammed them into the car in front of them.

Emergency personnel at the scene rushed one victim to the Grand Strand Regional Medical Center and the other to MUSC in Charleston.

The accident is still under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
