David T. Pearlman
Workers' Compensation
David Pearlman has dedicated his life to the ideals of compassion, tolerance and dignity for all people. His father, the Honorable Gus H. Pearlman, was Probate Judge for Charleston County for over 35 years. "I strive to follow my father's example that the purpose of the law is to protect and serve all people, no matter their background, with respect and dignity."
David is a graduate of George Washington University and attended the University of South Carolina Law School. He then joined The Steinberg Law Firm in 1976 and quickly became a partner. "Irving Steinberg founded the firm to help the working people of South Carolina. The Steinberg Law Firm is a perfect fit with the ideals my parents instilled in me."
For 30 years, David has worked tirelessly to protect the rights of injured workers facing insurance companies and big business and has won landmark cases before the South Carolina Appellate and Supreme Courts. David has served as Chairperson of the Workers' Compensation sections on both the state and county levels. David served as the Legislative Chairperson for SC Injured Workers Advocates, to protect the rights of injured workers. He is a past recipient of the Gedney M. Howe, Jr. Award for Outstanding Public Service and has long supported the Rural Mission and other community causes. David has been selected into the Best Lawyers in America in Workers' Compensation law. He is also an adjunct professor teaching Workers' Compensation at the Charleston School of Law.
David and his wife, Janet, live on Sullivan's Island. They have two grown children.
