Police identify victim in fiery crash

Richland County police have identified the woman killed in a fiery crash Sunday night on Percival Road near I-77.

The Richland County Coroner was able to identify the victim as a 20-year-old woman from Columbia.

The accident occurred around 6:45 PM Sunday when the woman struck a utility pole. The vehicle caught fire, and the woman died from smoke inhalation.

Investigators are unsure what caused the woman to lose control of the vehicle.
Police are still investigating the accident.
