Our History

When you join the Steinberg Law Firm, you join a long list of dedicated and reputable attorneys and staff who have maintained the trust and confidence of generations of clients.

Our firm was founded on the principles of compassion, justice and equality. In business for almost 100 years, the legacy of Irving Steinberg lives on through the attorneys who carry his desire to help all injured people, no matter who they are or what their background is.

We were one of the primary law firms that fought to add workers’ compensation laws to the books in South Carolina. We were the first firm to handle a workers’ comp case for an African American man injured at work. We fight for our clients and their families.

We have many events and family friendly activities for our team including Oyster Roasts, holiday parties, RiverDog games and more.

Our generous vacation time and holiday schedule, including 14 paid holidays in 2024, reflects the firm’s commitment to our people and their families.

Our Communities

We are committed to the success of our communities. Through many volunteering and board memberships, our attorneys and staff build connections and deep roots in the Lowcountry. A few of our most recent community involvement activities include:

• The mighty all-female volunteer team installed all the windows in a Berkeley Habitat for Humanity home.
• Our volunteer committee made dog treats at Dorchester Paws
• Several attorneys spoke at Goodwin Elementary School career days.
• Our Summerville office hosts an annual free wills clinic for veterans, preparing wills and power of attorney documents for over 40 veterans.
• A team of attorneys golfed in the Kid Chance of South Carolina golf outing.
• Volunteers spent a morning volunteering at Closet of Hope, a foster care support group, switching out their clothing closet from winter to spring.
