Authorities locate car involved in deadly hit-and-run

The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office reported that they located the vehicle suspected of causing the Sunday, December 8 hit-and-run incident. The fatal hit-and-run claimed the life of 22-year-old, Forrest Carlton.

A black Dodge Charger, was found at the Middleton Cove Apartments off of Ashley River Road in Charleston County. The vehicle was not located far from the area where the victim was found.

Carlton died from his injuries around 1 p.m. at the Medical University of South Carolina. The deputies have not found the driver of the vehicle yet.

Deputies are encouraging anyone who may have information about the driver of the Dodge Charger to contact the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office by calling 843-202-1700 or Crime Stopper at 843-554-1111.
