Taylor Grooms

Taylor Lawrence Grooms was born and raised in Berkeley County in Bonneau, S.C. He attended Berkeley County public schools from grades K-12, and is an Honor Graduate of Timberland High School. After Timberland, Taylor attended Clemson University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science. From there, he matriculated to the University of South Carolina School of Law where he graduated with Cum Laude honors and made the Dean’s List for five consecutive semesters.

After law school, Taylor served as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Roger M. Young, Sr. During this time, Judge Young served as the Chief Business Court Judge, and also the Chief Administrative Judge for both the Ninth Circuit (Berkeley and Charleston County) and Fourteenth Circuit (Allendale, Hampton, and Colleton County). Taylor was responsible for legal research, and drafted decisions relating to summary judgment motions, motions to reconsider, and motions to compel, among various others. While clerking, Taylor participated in many jury trials that came to a verdict. As a result, he has broad experience in the jury trial process having witnessed and advised on numerous pre-trial motions, directed verdict motions, and post-trial motions. He also crafted the jury instructions and voir dire for a range of cases during this time. All of this trial work has allowed Taylor to gain invaluable courtroom experience.
Taylor is using his litigation experience in our Goose Creek office, and will be protecting the rights of the injured with the Steinberg Law Firm’s Personal Injury practice group.
