Duncan man killed in accident with 18-wheeler

A 65-year-old man from Duncan died on Tuesday when he was involved in an accident with an 18-wheeler on I-85.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the man was driving a four-door car northbound on the highway at around 10:45 p.m. when an 18-wheeler that was also traveling northbound attempted to change lanes. The 18-wheeler collided with the car, which then crashed into a barrier wall and hit a Sedan.

The 65-year-old man was taken to Greenville Memorial Hospital where he died of blunt force trauma shortly after the accident. The accident is still being investigated by the Highway Patrol.

Our thoughts and sympathies are with the friends and family of the man who died in this accident.
