1 Killed, 1 Injured in South Carolina Car Crash
A woman is dead following an early morning car crash in Georgetown County on Sunday.
Dorolena Scott was killed Sunday morning after car in which she was a passenger, driven by 24 year-old Timothy Pitts, left the roadway and struck a tree. Police officials say the crash occurred shortly after 12:00 a.m. on South Carolina 51, about 11 miles north of Andrews.
According to Kenny Johnson, of the Georgetown County Coroner’s Office, the 26 year old Scott died from closed-head trauma sustained in the crash.
A spokesman for the South Carolina Highway Patrol said Pitts was taken to a nearby hospital following the accident. His condition is not known.
