4 Injured in Double DUI Crash

Four people are injured and two drivers are facing DUI charges following a two-vehicle collision Friday.
The accident occurred shortly before 3 a.m. Friday morning near Second Loop Road in Florence, South Carolina. A 45 year-old driver crashed into another vehicle driven by 22 year-old Anthony Doherty. Police reports say that both men were under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. The name of the 45 year-old has not been released.
The first vehicle struck a tree after colliding with Doherty, whose car suffered sever damage. A passenger in Doherty’s vehicle was thrown through the windshield. Doherty was not injured in the crash, he was released from the Florence County Detention Center on Monday. The first driver remains in the hospital.
Police continue to investigate the accident.
