Amtrak train collides with truck

Saturday evening an Amtrak train carrying nearly 200 passengers crashed into a pickup truck in Seneca.

The woman driving the truck was able to escape before the train crashed into it and was not injured. She says her truck broke down while she was crossing the railroad tracks near West Sizemore Road and Rochester Highway.

The accident delayed the train four hours while crews tried to remove metal from the train’s engine. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
