Case Result: Berkeley County, South Carolina Construction Defect Case Settles for More than $200,000

Recently, the construction defect attorneys at the Steinberg Law firm settled a construction defect case for local homeowners for more than $200,000. The home, located in Berkeley County, South Carolina, was purchased a little over three years ago for around $300,000.

The homeowners experienced issues with water leaking into a wall and showing up as stained drywall and bubbling paint on window moulding below, water staining on a ceiling, and water leaking in at a window. When an engineer inspected the home, he found the issues resulted from improper installation of flashing and air conditioning ducts. The engineer also found other areas of improper flashing installation and rotten wood framing, improper installation of siding, and improper installation of roof materials.

In this complex litigation case, our attorneys filed a lawsuit against more than 10 defendants including the home builder and subcontractors. Ultimately, our attorneys got the homeowner the money needed to make the necessary repairs to their home.
