Holiday Winter Coat & Toy Drive for Tricounty Family Ministries Christmas Brunch
As the holiday season is quickly approaching, Tricounty Family Ministries needs your help to prepare for their Annual Client Christmas Brunch to be held on Monday, December 19th.
In 2015, Tricounty Family Ministries provided 1,700 meals to lowcountry locals as well as clothes, coats, and hundreds of toys for local children. As they plan for their 2016 celebration, they need volunteers to collect new unwrapped toys, new and gently used coats (all sizes), gloves and funds to balance the cost for meals. Volunteers can also collect and fill gallon size “Hygiene” Ziploc bags with items for the older adults (soap, washcloth, razors, shampoo, tooth paste, lotion, small gifts, etc.) All donations are due by December 16 at their main office at 3349 Rivers Ave, N. Charleston.
Tricounty Family Ministries is a faith-based non-profit ministry providing food, clothing, medical care, counseling, job placement, transportation, shelter, financial assistance and other significant services to the less fortunate in the tri-county area. Founded in 1983, Tricounty Family Ministries began as a soup kitchen, which has since served more than 5.3 million meals to the less fortunate in the greater Charleston area. The organization is a sign of hope in one of the poorest neighborhoods in the low country. The community is occupied by the elderly on fixed incomes and the “working poor.” The families who are in despair, lack education, and cannot make ends meet due to lack of resources visit the organization.
This Christmas, we encourage everyone to join us in this winter coat and toy drive. This amazing organization will provide these items to 1900-2000 residents and 600 children at their Annual Christmas Bunch for those in need. So let’s get behind them and pick up an item or two to stuff these boxes and warm hearts.
You can donate new, unwrapped kids' toys and new or gently used kids' coats at any of our three offices below:
