Hollywood accident caused by faulty tires

A deadly Hollywood accident that occurred Wednesday morning is believed to have been caused by speeding as well as faulty tires. The accident claimed the life of the 16-year-old female driver and injured her two passengers.

According to the Charleston County Coroner’s Office, the teenager died from blunt force trauma after she was partially ejected from the vehicle. The two passengers were taken to the hospital for minor injuries, WCSC reports.

Investigators say the vehicle was traveling too fast for the rainy weather conditions and that the tires were underinflated and had little to no tread depth. No other vehicles were involved in the Highway 165 crash.
