Local Events for Your Family to Enjoy

South Carolina is a fun place.

There are plenty of events here that you can go with your family and have a good time. Here are just a few of those events that you might want to check out:

Coastal Carolina Fair – Few things can be more fun than an old fashioned fair. There’s a little bit of everything there and that’s exactly what you will get with the Coastal Caroline Fair, which has been running since 1957. From October 31st to the 10th of November, people can get to enjoy concerts, rides, cultural exhibitions, agricultural events, and other attractions. It’s an event that has something for the whole family, so no one will feel left out.

Charleston Scottish Games – Do you want your family to experience something fun while learning about history and foreign culture at the same time? Then visit the Charleston Scottish Games which will take place on the 2nd of November. The games started in 1971, and has been attracting visitors from all over the state and the country.

YALLFest: Charleston Young Adult Book Festival – If your kids love reading then they will enjoy the YALLFest: Charleston Young Adult Book Festival. The festival will be held on the 8th and the 9th of November in Charleston. It will be their chance to find some new books which they might enjoy.

Holiday Festival of Lights – The Holiday Festival of Lights will be a stunning display that will be loved by everyone in the family. The festival will start on November 15th and will run up until the 31st of December and will be held at the James Island County Park. The good news is that it’s going to be available, rain or shine.

AtomaCon– If you’re into science fiction, then you will have fun attending the AtomaCon. This is a multi-genre and family-friendly convention of fans of science fiction, and fantasy. This will be the 6th convention and the guest of honor will be Myke Cole. The convention will be held at the Hilton Garden Inn, North Charleston, from the 22nd of Movember up until the 24th.

Reindeer Run – Do you want an event where your kids can have fun and work on being healthy at the same time? The annual Reindeer Run in downtown Charleston is going to be the perfect event for them. The event involves a walk/run through downtown Charleston and is pet-friendly and family oriented. This year’s run will take place on the 7th of December.

Holiday Parade of Boats– This is Charleston’s top on-the-water holiday. This year’s parade will take place on the 14th of December. Participants are asked to decorate their boats and to sail the Charleston Harbor.
