NY Jets player involved in car accident

Muhammad Wilkerson, defensive end for the New York Jets, was involved in a two-car accident Saturday morning on the Garden State Parkway in New Jersey. According to authorities, Wilkerson rear-ended a minivan in front of him that had ten people inside.

The 2011 first-round draft pick and all others involved in the collision were not seriously injured and refused medical treatment. According to ESPN, Wilkerson’s car overturned and traveled at least ten yards on its roof.

He returned to the Jets team facility earlier this week where he was checked out by the team’s doctors. Wilkerson needed a few stitches on his forearm but is expected to return to training, ESPN reports.
