South Carolina ranks as one of best states for physicians

A recent review on the best states to practice medicine was done and South Carolina ranked high on the list for one of the best climates for physicians. The study was compiled by and published in  Physician’s Practice.

The low cost of living in the state, low tax burdens and low business costs are all among reasons that the state ranked so highly. Also, the disciplinary actions made by the state’s medical board are also very low with only 1.33 incidents per 1,000 physicians.

The state’s malpractice insurance has relatively low premiums as do the malpractice lawsuit payouts.  Other states that ranked similarly to South Carolina included, Texas, Alabama, Nevada and Idaho.

Because of the nature of their job, physicians must pay extra attention to each detail of their work. If they do not, serious injury can occur because of this negligence.
