State Trooper Injured by Alleged Drunk Driver

Early Monday morning, a state trooper who had pulled over for a routine traffic stop was struck by an alleged drunk driver. The patrol car was sitting on I-26 near Ashley Phosphate Rd when it was struck with the trooper inside.

The hit and run accident occurred around 3am, and the woman who struck the car was found a few miles down the road. The trooper was injured in the accident, but his extent of injury was not reported. He is recovering.
