Steinberg Law Firm Sponsors Reading Program for Adults

Over 66,000 adults in the Charleston area do not have a high school diploma. This staggering statistic has driven Steinberg Law Firm’s mission to support literacy programs throughout the Lowcountry. 

Steinberg Law Firm works closely with the Trident Literacy Association in an effort to improve literacy rates in our local community. The association focuses on “providing a path forward with educational literacy” and has been assisting the Charleston area since 1972. Steinberg Law Firm is proud to support this holistic approach to education, GED prep courses, career readiness, English as a second language (ESOL) courses, and more! This association helps over 1000 students a year work towards improving their literacy levels and bridging gaps in education.

The Steinberg Law Firm has a long history of supporting organizations committed to literacy. Our attorney and partner Michael J. Jordan was unanimously voted onto the board of directors for the Trident Literacy Association. Michael has been an asset at Steinberg Law Firm since 2006 and is a South Carolina native. He was born and raised in Columbia and attended The University of South Carolina, graduated, and attended the Florida Coastal School of Law. He has been recognized in Best Lawyers in America 2016, 2017, and 2018. Jordan was also recognized as the top 100 trial lawyers in 2014. Literacy is essential to his work in law and helping his community improve literacy rates is something dear to his heart.

Some of our long time commitments include supporting local literacy programs, our local high schools, and providing annual academic scholarships to support our local community. Steinberg Law Firm founded several industry organizations including S.C Association for Justice (formally the S.C. Trial Lawyers Association) and Injured Workers’ Advocates. Our dedication to serving and legally representing the public has been a pillar to our growth over the last century.
