Teen dies in mo-ped accident

A 13 year-old girl was killed late last week in a mo-ped accident. The driver of the mo-ped she was on ran a stop sign and was hit by a pickup truck.

The driver, a 21 year-old man, is in critical condition at a Greenville Hospital. Paramedics say he has broken several bones. The young girl was killed almost immediately upon impact. Police report that neither were wearing their helmets.

No charges have been brought against the driver of the mo-ped. Alcohol, speeding, and drugs have been ruled out as contributions to the accident. The people inside the pickup truck were not injured.
