Never Forget

Your Stories

Where were you when 9/11 happened?

  • I was at work. They didn’t let us leave. Then they changed their mind and let us go home. There were people from New York at work who were calling their relatives in New York asking if their relatives or people they knew were okay.

  • I was with my mother in her apartment backing boxes for her because she was getting ready to move from Ann Arbor to Saline , Michigan.

  • I was with my 6 week old son and my three year old daughter holding them and being in shock. I was trying not to cry and scare my daughter but kids are pretty smart and she knew something bad happened. We watched the second plane and even she gasped. Horrible, horrible day

  • As the 25th Anniversary of the horrible attack on America nears I want to share a Poem I wrote that evening of September 11th 2001 as I watched live coverage of the tragic event I was moved to write this poem. I wrote this then mailed it to myself so I have two unopened envelopes with the September 12th 2001 post mark date. “poor man’s copy write”. Please if you share this please offer me the credit for my poem. I offer to America this as Tribute to all of us who’s lives were changed forever.

Many people sent to Heaven on the day of 9-11

With stolen planes they took their aim
Nothing will ever be the same.
People were trapped when buildings came down
layers of ash on the ground
it came again 3 and 4 will there be anymore?
Planes are grounded they will not fly
the Country stood still at least from the sky
People were sent to save some lives
Where are they now? they’re hard to find
People were lost they couldn’t see
The ground was covered with dust and debris.
As people ran for their lives
They couldn’t even believe their eyes
The skies were filled with thick black smoke
Finding cover was their only hope.
I thinks it’s over, it’s safe to say
    America was hurt today
In days and weeks yet to come
We’ll count them all one by one.
When it’s over I’ll remember well
How it felt when our buildings fell.
