Underage woman causes fatal accident, faces DUI charge

A 20-year-old Goose Creek woman is currently facing a DUI charge after she caused a wreck that resulted in the death of a 28-year-old man.

The accident occurred at around 2 a.m. on Interstate 26. The woman was driving an SUV erratically with the 28-year-old man in the passenger seat. The woman crashed into a highway median and then crossed over four lanes before coming to a stop in a ditch. The man was ejected from the vehicle and landed in the middle of the highway, where he was struck by another vehicle. He died at the scene of the accident.

The woman, who has multiple prior arrests for drug charges, is facing 25 years in prison if she is convicted of a felony DUI.
