Attorney Malcolm Crosland Named President-Elect of Workers’ Law and Advocacy Group (WILG)

Steinberg Law Firm is pleased to announce that our own Malcolm Crosland has been elected the new President-Elect of the Workers’ Injury Law and Advocacy Group (WILG). WILG’s membership has over one thousand members and is the only national organization of workers compensation attorneys who exclusively represent injured workers. Founded in 1995, WILG helps men and women who have been hurt at work and need legal representation to get the worker’s compensation benefits to which they are entitled. Through advocacy and work in both Washington, D.C. and communities around the country, WILG is dedicated to protecting the rights of working Americans.

Malcolm has been involved with WILG for many years, serving on both the Board of Directors and Executive Committee. He is honored to be chosen as President-Elect of an organization so close to his heart.

Malcolm started his career at the Steinberg Law Firm in 1986. He is deeply committed to representing injured people in South Carolina in state and federal courts as well as before the S.C. Worker’s Compensation Commission and the U.S. Department of Labor. He has won many cases for those clients, each one representing a life interrupted and complicated by an injury caused by another’s negligence or a workplace accident.

Malcolm has worked extensively to preserve, protect and expand the existing workers’ compensation system through his involvement as chairperson of WILG’s Opt Out Taskforce, which fights the creation of an alternate workers’ compensation scheme completely unfair to injured workers. He was honored in 2017 with the WILG President’s Award for this work.

In addition to his involvement with WILG, Malcolm has donated extensive volunteer service work with other organizations that include: The Brain Injury Association of South Carolina, Lowcountry Aids Services and The Barrier Islands Free Medical Clinic. In addition, he served as President of Injured Workers Advocates (IWA) (2006-2007), the only South Carolina statewide organization for attorneys dedicated to the protection of the rights of injured workers. He has received a plethora of other awards and honors throughout his exemplary career. For many years, Malcolm has been consistently recognized by Best Lawyers in America and Super Lawyers.

Steinberg Law Firm congratulates Malcolm on receiving this much deserved honor.
