Steinberg Law Firm Supports Youth Empowerment
According to a survey from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, nearly 40% of children in the United States live in low-income families with incomes at or below the poverty line. This incredible statistic shows the vast number of children who need support and assistance during their adolescent years. Development during a child’s youth sets the path for the remainder of their lives and we want to provide the chance for children to succeed.
Steinberg Law Firm has various initiatives to help young individuals in our area including the Steinberg Law Firm Scholarship Program, our annual support for the Dream Girls Conference, and the Steinberg Law Firm Annual Community Fund.
The Steinberg Law Firm Scholarship Program is offering a $1000 scholarship to 5 South Carolina graduating seniors who plan to attend a four-year university. The applicants must submit a creative essay that explains what moral leadership means to you and what are your personal goals regarding being a moral leader within your community? Applicants are selected based on the quality of their essay, academic honors received, and community involvement.
Another way that Steinberg Law Firm supports our local youth is through support for the Dream Girls organization. This organization is specifically designed to help at-risk young women by providing a community of positivity where young women can thrive. Youth Empowerment Services (Y.E.S.) organizes the annual conference and has recruited and trained more than 500 adults and mentors and volunteers who have faithfully served more than 5,000 people through various school and community-based mentoring programs, college prep activities, community service opportunities, leadership development, conferences, parenting sessions, and community awareness activities. The organization provides mental, spiritual, social, physical, and emotional help so that young women can navigate through life and be successful. This event takes place here in Charleston, South Carolina and you can find more information with this link: http://bit.ly/2IiRWH7 .
Finally, our Annual Community Fund helps a variety of local organizations around the Charleston area. This fund allows all members of our organization to participate in supporting initiatives that impact the youth in our local area. These organizations include:
- Tri-County Veterans Support Group
- Fields to Families
- My Sister’s House
- Camp Happy Days
- Door’s to Freedom
- Youth Empowerment Services
- And More!
All of these organizations help our local community serve those at-risk or in need. If you would like to apply for support through the Steinberg Law Firm Community Fund click this link: http://bit.ly/2PLq8iR .
