Workers’ Compensation Settlement for Airline Employee Luggage Lifting Injury in Greenville, SC

Recently, attorney Adam Greene settled a workers’ compensation claim for a 57-year-old woman employed at the Greenville Spartanburg International Airport in Greer, SC.

The airline employee suffered several injuries in the course of her job lifting luggage, including lower back pain and a shoulder injury resulting in multiple surgeries. She had been receiving weekly checks through the South Carolina Workers’ Compensation system.

Attorney Greene asserted permanent and total disability for her shoulder and back injuries. The back injury was denied but the case went to mediation, with a final case settlement of $130,000, just short of total and permanent disability. Opposing sides were about $30,000 apart but were able to come to an acceptable agreement in the end.

“The case was handled almost exclusively via digital conferencing and communication, alleviating the need for the injured worker to travel to one of our offices,” said Greene.
