Never Forget

Your Stories

Where were you when 9/11 happened?

  • A mother a father, a sister a brother a son or a daughter bride or a groom. Someone was taken so close to our hearts, it hurts just to say it, we ache from the truth We love them we miss them but always remember they’ve gone to a place that someday we’ll find. A place of reward that’s not governed by time. With views of a kingdom and a key to the city, they’ve been welcomed by loved ones and they’re own special guide. They can talk and can listen for answers from God. To hear His voice rumble in a delicate tone, to know that He loves us and will never leave us to lone. The pain and they’re fear was gone in an instant, replaced by a joy that I’ll try to describe. Feel a peace that has no understanding and to know in your mind, your aware at all times. There’s trees and there’s grass, there’s streams and there’s brooks, rivers that lead to the seas. There’s no need for rain, because God supplies love, He’s our light so there’s no sun above All of the beautiful moments we’ve shared, all of our happiness, all of our cheer, will all come together and last without end. Singing and praising and laughing again. At the sight and the sound of the angels and saints we are awestruck with love and the power of God. Emotions without sorrow, without pain without fear. All we can feel is love joy and cheer. All you will feel is love joy and cheer! Remember I said you will see them again, that’s everyone you’ve ever known. Our bodies will change but our faces remain, our spirits our minds and our souls.

  • At home watching TV

  • I was working on a roof in portsmouth va

  • I was in Accounting class at San Jose Job Corp Center,we were watching on TV when it was happening, crying.

  • Work

  • I was 10 months old. Personally, I don’t have a story to tell.

My mother recalls holding me in her arms when the first reports came out that morning. My dad was in the garage. The way she tells it, she saw the news and ran out there and told my dad “We’re under attack!” or something to that effect.

What a horrible day. I won’t forget from what I was taught when I grew older.

  • Originally from Farmingdale, NY, Long Island, I was living in Poland, Ohio teaching second grade. We were lining up outside the girls’ bathroom after a restroom break. Our custodian came running up to me in a frantic state to tell me about the first plane hitting. After calming him down and telling him, we cannot scare the kids, I called my husband from the teacher’s lounge across the hall. My husband, an FBI agent, had just arrived at work in Youngstown. He was trying to call his brother who worked in Manhattan. The next few weeks, he worked every lead that came his way endlessly. He was assigned to the local airport and interview numerous people. We hardly saw him. Little by little parents came to take their children home. After all children had been picked up, the district sent us home. Like most, I spent the rest of the day staring at the TV with tears streaming down my face.

  • I was trying a wreck case in Berkeley County before Judge Markley Dennis. It was day 2 of the trial. Court started just after the jet hit the second tower and we all knew it was a terrorist attack. Judge Dennis wanted to continue the trial as a show of resistance to the terrorists. Everyone else just wanted to go home and watch as the world changed that day.

  • I was living in Bethlehem Pennsylvania( about an hour and a half drive from the city). I was a senior in high school. I was in English class and i will never forget a teacher walking into our class and whispering something to my teacher. She then told us. A day I’ll never forget. My father (now retired), flew for American Airlines out of LaGuardia and was working that morning. I called my mom from a pay phone at school and she assured me my dad was fine. I guess I just believed her at the time. He was, but he said he was told to land where ever he could, that’s when he found out.
25 years later, my son is a senior in high school just as I was.

  • On this very day 25 years ago. I was at a gas station pumping gas. A friend of mine came in behind meat another gas pump. He asked me have they called you in yet. I said no not yet, What for? That’s when he informed me about the twin towers and other planes crashing into twin towers. About that time my phone rang. I was activated for this alert. It was a terrible thing for the USA. Our first attack on the Nation of the USA. I ended up serving state side and overseas committed to 1 year for this cause. It was the most horrific and most memorable tour of my 3 tours of foreign duties. I’m 69 years now. I will never forget November 11, 2001. God Bless America.

  • Was in college after a 20 yr hitch in the military

  • 34th street and park ave.

  • On this day 25 years ago, We where not red. We where not blue. We where Americans. No colors, no races, nothing other then American. Today we need to remember what brought us together on that day and strive to continue to do so. If we say we are Americans. We’ll then let’s be Americans. Put aside the hate. Love one another, love your neighbor. Let’s show the world what it is to be an American. God bless 9/11. God bless this America and those who love the nation we are.

  • Working at The YMCA Youngstown.

  • Teaching my kindergarten class

  • Always remember!

  • At home in San Diego, I had just got up flipped on the TV. The first plane had hit, watched the second plane hit. I sat stunned, my husband was working swing shift so was sleeping. The air changed, he awoke, came wanting to know what was happening. Asked why I did not wake him, the reason, was that I could not comprehend what had occurred.

  • Sheet rocking a closet at Bloomingdale’s 59th street

  • Just got home from work when nine eleven hit very sad day

  • At work, what a horrible nightmare. Never forget the devastating seen from 9-11.

  • Was home a neighbor told me and to turn on my T.V. I did It was heartbreaking and unbelieveable. A very sad day!

  • I was 3rd grade. I remember everyone stopping what they were doing and everyone turned on the TV’s. My parents came and picked me up and took me home for the remainder of the day. I was too young to realize what was happening, but the devastation, shock on my parents faces and the hours of silence is something I will never forget.

  • I was overseas in Bosnia Herzegovina, in the gunner’s hatch of an armored Humvee. We were part of the Stabilization Force and were on an active manhunt for war criminal Slobodan Milosevic. We returned to base camp in the early hours of the 12th, around 3 am, and TV’s in the mess hall were playing CNN with coverage of the events as they happened. In spite of all that the tragedy of 9/11 is still the most potent memory of that day. Never forget. Wounded warriors, brave firefighters, police officers and everyday civilians are the backbone of what keeps our country great. Blessings to you all.

  • My shift at the mutual fund company I worked for didn’t start until 10am – every morning I watched good morning American and they had just ended when there was breaking news – a reporter was close to the scene and everyone asked him over and over how could it have been an airplane – he assured them he knew what a bomb sounded like as he had covered the last war – I was in shock especially when he let everyone know what was coming out the windows wasn’t just debris – but not as much in shock until I go to work and my Muslim friend was being harassed by a bunch of ignorant people, who she worked with daily and knew her…we had people we interacted with daily in those buildings and it was terrible for everyone! We will never forget!

  • I was working as a dog groomer and, after hearing where the planes had departed from, had to stop what I was doing as my sister-in-law was supposed to fly from Boston Logan airport to LA that day and we could not reach her. It was such a terrifying feeling. Luckily for us all, she had taken an earlier flight and was safe at work, watching events unfold.

  • I was the Legal Administrator for the Steinberg Law Firm. An employee came into my office and said one of the NY City Twin towers has been hit with a plane. I ran down from the third floor to the second floor to David Pearlman’s office the managing partner and said one of the Twin Towers has been hit, I am going to turn on the TV what to come? He said I am to busy working. So I went to the conference room someone had already turned on the TV. Employee’s started to gather we watched as the 2nd Twin tower was hit. I was in disbelief! Why would this happen? Later we found out.

  • I was at home I was preparing for a day of college when my parents told me to get to the television

  • I was at work.

  • I was outside talking to my daughter about the plan for the morning. She was saying she was watching the TV and scream came out and she say mommy airplane crash to the twin tower building, I run like crazy to the second floor and then I saw the second airplane went to second Tower that was so sad. It’s broke my heart. I never forget that day.
